Day 1

Fly to Denver

Arrive in Denver – the Mile High City and gateway to the American Rockies. Transfer independently to your hotel where you will meet your Tour Manager.

Overnight: Doubletree by Hilton Denver Cherry Creek or similar

Day 2

Denver – Rocky Mountains - Cheyenne

This morning you will enjoy a short tour of Denver including the gold-domed State Capitol where the thirteenth step to the building is exactly 1 mile above sea level. Then leave Denver and head into the Rocky Mountain National Park on a beautiful scenic drive. But it gets even more spectacular when you reach the Trail Ridge Road, known as the Highway to the Sky, winding past numerous peaks, through the tundra high above the treeline and crossing the Continental Divide at just over 12,000 feet. Continue on to Cheyenne, the state capital of Wyoming, which embodies the spirit of the Old West. Widely regarded as America’s railroad capital, Cheyenne is home to a collection of steam engines including the worlds largest.

Day 3

Cheyenne – Mount Rushmore - Rapid City

Visit Fort Laramie National Historic Site. This was originally established as a private fur trading fort but evolved into the largest military post on the Northern Plains and witnessed the entire saga of America’s expansion westwards. Continue through the majestic beauty of South Dakota’s Black Hills to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, where George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are immortalised in stone.

Day 4

Deadwood – Bighorn Mountains - Cody

This morning you will cross back into Wyoming travelling through the Bighorn National Forest, filled with rolling hills, alpine lakes, craggy cliffs and the Bighorn Mountains. When you arrive in Cody, visit the Buffalo Bill Museum which focus’s on the life of William F Buffalo Bill Cody – the legendary town founder. This evening you will enjoy attractions that include rodeos, gun fight re-enactments and cowboy music.

Day 5

Cody – Yellowstone

Today you will take an unforgettable journey into America’s first National Park and nature’s wonderland – Yellowstone. A truly unique place sitting on top of an ancient volcano and filled with geysers, hot springs, rivers, waterfalls, mountain ranges and diverse wildlife. You will marvel at the iconic sights of the Old Faithful geyser, Mammoth Hot Springs and Yellowstone Canyon, and will hopefully spot buffalo, elk, eagles and bears.

Day 6

Yellowstone – Grand Teton – Jackson Hole

Journey south into the stunning Grand Teton National Park, where the jagged peaks tower more than a mile above the Jackson Hole valley. You will pause at the beautiful Snake River Outlook where views of the Snake River flowing into the mountains puts the size of the Tetons into perspective. Overnight in the charming town of Jackson Hole with it’s unique Town Square.

Day 7

Jackson Hole – Salt Lake City

Today’s drive takes you through southern Idaho to Salt Lake City. Enjoy the sights of the State Capitol Building and Temple Square – home to the 6 spires of Salt Lake Temple and domed Tabernacle. An optional evening meal at The Roof Restaurant is thoroughly recommended as a final night treat with its great views of Salt Lake Valley and Temple Square.

Day 8

Fly home

It’s time to check out of your hotel and transfer independently to the airport for your flight home.
