Fly to Seattle, also known as the Emerald City for its lush evergreen forests. After your checking into your hotel, take time to relax or perhaps enjoy a stroll and explore the city at your own pace. This evening you will meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers over a welcome dinner.

Day 2
Seattle
Begin the day at Pike Place Market, one of the country’s oldest and most vibrant markets, where fishmongers famously toss their catch through the air. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and flavours of this Seattle icon before enjoying panoramic city views from the futuristic Space Needle, the city’s most recognisable landmark. The rest of the day is yours to explore.

Day 3
Seattle – Bainbridge Island – Sequim – Olympic Peninsula (220 miles)
Leave the city behind as you board the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, with sweeping views across Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Continue to Sequim Valley and visit Jardin du Soleil, a family-owned lavender farm. Here you’ll meet a local farmer, discover how lavender is cultivated and distilled, and even create your own essential oil using ingredients produced on site. Your journey then leads deep into the Olympic Peninsula and to your overnight stay at Lake Quinault Lodge, a historic retreat set amidst forested landscapes, offering a true sense of tranquillity.

Day 4
Olympic Peninsula – Astoria (140 miles)
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Quinault, where you may choose to wander through the forest trails, browse local shops, or simply relax in the serene surroundings. Later, travel south along the coast into Oregon, arriving in Astoria, a historic port city at the confluence of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. Visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum, which houses one of the nation’s most extensive collections of maritime artefacts, before enjoying free time to explore Astoria’s charming downtown with its waterfront views and Victorian architecture.

Day 5
Astoria – Newport (350 miles)
Step aboard the restored Astoria Riverfront Trolley for a nostalgic ride along the waterfront before ascending the Astoria Column, a towering monument offering sweeping views of the Pacific Northwest. Continue south to the coastal town of Newport, where expansive sandy beaches and ocean views invite you to unwind and enjoy the dramatic coastal scenery.

Day 6
Newport – Willamette Valley – Portland (140 miles)
Travel inland towards the fertile Willamette Valley, pausing at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, home to a fascinating collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft, including the legendary Hughes H-4 Hercules “Spruce Goose.” Later, visit the Kramer Vineyards, where you’ll meet the owners, sample local wines, and share lunch in an intimate, welcoming setting. Arrive in Portland and take a short city tour of this eclectic and creative hub.

Day 7
Portland – Columbia River Gorge – Portland (580 miles)
Spend the day exploring the Columbia River Gorge, famed for its dramatic landscapes and breathtaking waterfalls. Pause at the magnificent Multnomah Falls before continuing to TMK Creamery, where you’ll meet the resident “Cowlebrities” and learn how the creamery turns milk into cheese, ice cream, and even “Cowcohol,” while also upcycling by-products into new consumables. Return to Portland for a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 8
Portland
After breakfast it’s time to make your way to the airport. Alternatively, you may choose to extend your stay to further explore this lively city.
