Rocky Mountaineer Rockies to the Red Rocks Explorer
Overview
From August 2021 the famous Rocky Mountaineer will be travelling a new and stunning rail route through the American Rockies between Denver in Colorado and Moab in Utah. Taking this slow-paced rail journey through some of the world’s most spectacular scenery must be close to the top of any travel wish-list. Leaving Denver you will travel through stunning canyons such as Red Canyon, Byers and Glenwood Canyon. You’ll spot wildlife such as mountain lions, bears and big-horn sheep. After a night in the charming resort of Glenwood Springs, you’ll re-board the train for a delicious breakfast, marvel at the sight of Mount Garfield and then raise a toast as you cross the border from Colorado into Utah. You will see views of the Book Cliff Mountains and La Sal Mountains that are only accessible by rail or river, before arriving into Moab.
In Moab you will leave the train and begin the second part of your adventure by coach through the stunning national parks of Utah. You will explore the superb natural sandstone arches of Arches National Park, the mysterious rock formations called Hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park and the soaring mounts and lush valley’s of Zion National Park. Your tour ends in Las Vegas where you can extend your stay to enjoy more of this fun destination. (RMR)
