Experience the splendid autumn colours of New England and Quebec and immerse yourself in this picturesque region. Start in the bustling historic city of Boston and move up to coastal Maine to stop in Kennebunkport and Portland before heading inland through the lake region to North Conway, New Hampshire. Take a ride on the Cannon Mountain Tramway and wind your way through rural Vermont before crossing the border into Canada and the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

See the sights of Quebec City, the only remaining walled city in North America, then sample a traditional breakfast at a maple syrup sugar shack on the way to the lakes, forests and rivers of the Laurentians and the mountain resort of Tremblant. Head back south to end your tour in dynamic Montreal, one of the largest French speaking cities in the world.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN BOSTON, MA

Arrive in historic Boston, and meet your tour director and travelling companions at an evening WELCOME RECEPTION. (WR)

DAY 2 - BOSTON

TOUR Boston's downtown sights, like Boston Common, Copley Square, Faneuil Hall, the State House and the North End. Free time in the afternoon and evening to enjoy this dynamic city independently. (B)

DAY 3 - BOSTON-OGUNQUIT-KENNEBUNKPORT

Cross from Massachusetts into Maine and stop in the charming seaside town of Ogunquit, with its sandy beach, before heading on to the fashionable resort of Kennebukport, summer home of George Bush Snr. There will be time to explore the town and the galleries on Dock Square. Join your tour director for a LOBSTER DINNER in the evening. (B,D)

DAY 4 - KENNEBUNKPORT-PORTLAND-NORTH CONWAY

Continue up the Maine coastline to Portland, where you will take a tour of this picturesque town, the largest in Maine, with a bustling harbourside. Cross through the lake district of Maine to enter New Hampshire and an overnight stop in North Conway, known as New England's adventure sports capital and also home to many bargain factory outlet shops, where you can buy outdoor gear at fantastic prices. DAY 5 - NORTH CONWAY-EASTERN TOWNSHIP AREA

Travel through the White Mountains and stop at Franconia Notch for a ride on the CANNON MOUNTAIN TRAMWAY, where you will be treated to sweeping views across the Presidential Range. Drive on through rural Vermont and across the Canadian border to Francophone Quebec, with a tour and WINE TASTING at one of the province's renowned vineyards in the Eastern Townships. (B,D)

DAY 6 - EASTERN TOWNSHIP AREA-QUEBEC CITY

Head to Saint Benoit du Lac to see the beautiful old ABBEY overlooking the lake, and sample homemade cider before continuing through rolling countryside to arrive in Quebec City, the provincial capital where you will have a two night stay. A CITY TOUR will show you round North America's only remaining walled city, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the Lower Town's narrow cobbled streets and the impressive turrets of the Chateau Frontenac. (B,D)

DAY 7 - QUEBEC CITY. CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE

Choose your activity today, a GLOBUS PLATINUM EXCLUSIVE. Either take a lunch CRUISE on the St Lawrence River or enjoy a WALKING TOUR and buffet lunch at Chateau Frontenac, a grand 19th century gothic revival hotel and iconic landmark of the city. (B,L)

DAY 8 - QUEBEC CITY-LAURENTIANS

Stop at a traditional SUGAR SHACK for a guided tour demonstrating the art of making maple syrup, then enjoy a hearty sugar shack breakfast. Travel north west to the Laurentians, a region of forests, lakes, rivers and pretty villages. You will take an afternoon cruise on Lac des Sables, with its beautiful surroundings then head to the ski resort of Tremblant for an overnight stop. (B)

DAY 9 - LAURENTIANS-MONTREAL

A relaxing morning to stroll Tremblant's streets before you move on to Montreal, one of the largest French-speaking cities in the world, and a cosmopolitan mix of modern and historic. Join a CITY TOUR to discover the sights of Old Montreal, the Catholic Notre Dame Basilica and up to Mount Royal with its views across this island city. In the evening your tour director will host a FAREWELL CELEBRATION DINNER in the heart of Old Montreal. (B,D)

DAY 10 - MONTREAL

Transfers are included to the airport for your onward journey, or you could extend your holiday with extra nights in Montreal to get to know the city better - contact American Sky for details. (B)
