Tour Itinerary
- DAY 1 - ARRIVE PHOENIX - SCOTTSDALE.
- Use your complimentary transfer to make your way to your hotel in Scottsdale where your Tour Director will greet you and answer any questions. Then join us at 6 p.m for a Welcome Reception at the Scottsdale Marriott Suites Old Town hotel.
- DAY 2 - SCOTTSDALE - GRAND CANYON.
- After visiting the artistic colony of Sedona, we go through Oak Creek Canyon on our way to the mighty Grand Canyon National Park. Our professional Tour Director will explain the wonders as we walk along rim of the canyon. In the evening, we enjoy dinner with magnificent views of the Grand Canyon at the National Park Lodges.
- DAY 3 - GRAND CANYON - LAKE POWELL.
- After spending the morning at the Grand Canyon and a trip to Historic Cameron Trading Post we stop at Glen Canyon Dam to learn about its impact on the Colorado River before arriving at the lakefront resort with its breathtaking scenery. After a leisurely cruise on Lake Powell and a trip to Antelope Canyon we head for the Lake Powell Resort hotel with guaranteed Lake View Rooms.
- DAY 4 - LAKE POWELL AT LEISURE.
- The entire day is yours to relax and enjoy the resort. You can take a scenic flight over the lake, or join an excursion to Monument Valley Tribal Park for a guided tour. The choice is yours.
- DAY 5 - LAKE POWELL - BRYCE OR ZION.
- Visit the balancing rocks and spires of Bryce Canyon National Park of explore Zion National Park – the choice is yours. Depending on which you’ve chosen, we overnight in either the Bryce Canyon Lodge or the Zion Park Lodge.
- DAY 6 - BRYCE OR ZION - LAS VEGAS.
- Those that chose Bryce Canyon travel through more amazing scenery to meet up at Zion National Park, where we join the private Zion Canyon Shuttle with live commentary describing highlights of the park. Then get ready for a change of pace as we head to Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, a Sheraton Hotel.
- DAY 7 - LAS VEGAS - SALT LAKE CITY.
- We travel on to Salt Lake City, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Mormon religion, staying at the Marriott Salt Lake City Centre hotel.
- DAY 8 - SALT LAKE CITY - JACKSON.
- After a tour of Salt Lake City, we head into Wyoming, crossing the Oregon Trail heading for the town of Jackson. For evening dinner, choose from a selection of excellent local restaurants before checking in to the Rustic Inn hotel.
- DAY 9 - JACKSON - YELLOWSTONE.
- Explore Grand Teton National Park, before moving on to Yellowstone National Park. Established in 1872, Yellowstone was the world’s first national park and showcases spectacular landscapes, incredible geology like Old Faithful and incredible wildlife. We stay at the National Park Lodges in the park.
- DAY 10 - YELLOWSTONE EXCURSION.
- Discover the wonders of Yellowstone National Park. Witness Old Faithful erupting over 120ft into the air and walk among the rumbling geysers. See free-roaming herds of buffalo, deer, elk and bear in their natural habitat and be awed by the thundering Lower Yellowstone Falls.
- DAY 11 - YELLOWSTONE - BILLINGS.
- We head for the old Wild West town of Cody to visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Soak up the atmosphere of the old cattle town of Billings, Montana, and overnight in the comfortable Crowne Plaza Hotel Billings.
- DAY 12 - BILLINGS - CUSTER STATE PARK.
- We re-live “Custer’s Last Stand” at the Battle of the Little Bighorn Monument, before motoring through the Black Hills of South Dakota to reach Deadwood, joining a guided tour of this once lawless outpost. We continue on to Custer State Park, famous for its abundant wildlife including buffalo, black bears, deer and elk and check into the State Game Lodge.
- DAY 13 - BLACK HILLS EXCURSION.
- The Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s biggest sculpture, starts our day and then it’s on to Mount Rushmore National Memorial. You spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
- DAY 14 - CUSTER STATE PARK - CHEYENNE.
- We travel across the high plains into Wyoming, stopping at the former US cavalry outpost Fort Laramie, before continuing to Cheyenne where we’ll get an orientation tour. In the evening, check into the Little America hotel.
- DAY 15 - CHEYENNE - DENVER.
- Explore Rocky Mountain National Park and pass over Trail Ridge Road to the source of the Colorado River (weather permitting), taking in an orientation tour of the mile high city of Denver, before a Farewell Dinner at the Sheraton Denver hotel.
- DAY 16 - DENVER - DEPARTURE.
- A complimentary transfer to Denver International Airport will set you homeward bound to Ireland with memories that will live with you forever.
