We stop off at the Grand Ole Opry, see the Jack Daniel's Distillery, visit Graceland, pass through Cajun country and sample genuine Creole cuisine as you discover the best of this endlessly fascinating and inspiring region.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Nashville
Arrive in Nashville, home of country and western. Transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay in this musical city and meet your Tour Director. Later, there will be a Welcome Reception at the hotel.

Day 2 - Nashville
Join a tour of Nashville this morning, including a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame. In the evening you'll eat at a local restaurant and head for a live recording of the Grand Ole Opry country radio show.

Day 3 - Nashville - Memphis
We spend the morning touring Lychburg's Jack Daniel's Distillery before driving to Memphis for a two-night stay. Take a city tour to discover the city's seminal role in blues and rock and roll music, taking in spots like Beale Street and BB King's Blues Club. You'll also see the mighty Mississippi and the Lorraine Hotel. Spend the evening independently.

Day 4 - Memphis
Take a trip out to Graceland, Elvis Presley's palatial mansion and last resting place.

Day 5 - Memphis - Natchez
Heading out of Memphis, we enter the state of Mississippi, following the river to Natchez, home to many beautiful old antebellum houses built before the Civil War. There will be a tour of one of these fine old homes and a dinner this evening in one of the town's mansions.

Day 6 - Natchez - Cotton Country - Lafayette
We drive across to Louisiana for a guided tour at the working Frogmore Cotton Plantation and spend an afternoon in Cajun Country. Settled by exiles from French Canada, you'll experience the area's unique blend of French, Caribbean and Creole culture. We learn more about Cajun culture at Vermilionville, a recreated village, and see a cookery demonstration. In the evening, enjoy genuine Louisiana flavours at a local restaurant.

Day 7 - Lafayette - Swamp tour - Oak Alley - New Orleans
Cruise through the Atchafalaya Basin's swamps and bayous before tracking the mighty Mississippi to Oak Alley Plantation. We tour the elegant house and gardens and discover the Louisiana's sugarcane history before then moving on to New Orleans for a two-night stay in one of America's greatest cities.

Day 8 - New Orleans
We embark on a city tour of New Orleans' historic French Quarter and one of the city's famous above-ground cemeteries. For the last night of your American tour you'll join your fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner at an atmospheric restaurant in the French Quarter.

Day 9 - New Orleans
A complimentary transfer is included to New Orleans Airport.
