Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Las Vegas
Arrive in fabulous Las Vegas and transfer to your hotel. Meet your Tour Director and later your fellow guests at an early evening Welcome Reception.
Hotel: Las Vegas Hilton
Day 2 - Las Vegas - Zion National Park - Bryce Canyon National Park
We start our adventure, passing through St George on the way to Zion National Park with its spectacular rock formations and then move onto Bryce Canyon National Park. There, you'll witness more incredible scenery with sandstone 'hoodos' filling a vast natural amphitheatre.
Hotel: Ruby's Inn
Day 3 - Bryce Canyon - Salt Lake City
We head to Utah's capital, Salt Lake City, founded in 1847 by Mormon pioneers led by Brigham Young. It's now a metropolis of some 1.6 million people and base of the 10-million-strong Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A city orientation tour will take you to sights like Temple Square and the Salt Lake Tabernacle and the Assembly Hall. In the evening you could join an optional dinner at historic Lion House restaurant, visiting Brigham Young's home Beehive House on the way, or you could choose to spend the evening independently.
Hotel: Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel
Day 4 - Salt Lake City - Jackson
Leaving the city behind, we skirt the Great Salt Lake to pick up the Oregon Trail, which was the only passable route west for settlers in the 19th century. It will take us to Jackson, Wyoming, an authentic old-west town, under the shadow of the snow-capped Grand Teton mountains. Enjoy an evening meal in the town square at an atmospheric local restaurant.
Hotel: Antler Inn
Day 5 - Jackson - Grand Teton National Park - Yellowstone National Park (2 nights)
There is an optional trip down a scenic section of the Snake River this morning (seasonal), before the tour continues through Grand Teton National Park to reach Yellowstone National Park for a two-night stay. This geothermal landscape is also home to plentiful wildlife, including bears, elk and one of the few remaining large buffalo herds. You will enter the park from the South Entrance, weather permitting, between mid-May and mid-October - otherwise the tour will travel through the West Entrance.
Hotel: National Park Lodges
Day 6 - Yellowstone National Park
We spend the whole day on a tour of Yellowstone National Park, taking in the Lower Falls, Midway Geyser Basin, Hayden Meadow and plenty of hot pools, mud pots and geysers including the legendary Old Faithful.
Hotel: National Park Lodges
Day 7 - Yellowstone - Cody - Billings
We drive to Cody (named after the original Wild West showman, Buffalo Bill Cody) and visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. We then continue on to the old cattle town of Billings in Montana. You'll have dinner at your hotel in Billings this evening.
Hotel: Holiday Inn Grand Montana
Day 8 - Billings - Deadwood - Rapid City
We visit the Little Bighorn National Monument where General Custer made his infamous last stand in June 1876. Next, head to South Dakota to stop at the old west town of Deadwood, made famous from the TV series. There will be a narrated tour on a trolleybus to learn all about its lawless past. We then move on to Rapid City for a two-night stay.
Hotel: Radisson Rapid City
Day 9 - Black Hills excursion
We start the day by travelling through the Black Hills to reach the Crazy Horse Memorial and then continue to Mount Rushmore, where four American Presidents are carved out of the rock face. You can spend the evening at leisure in Rapid City.
Hotel: Radisson Rapid City
Day 10 - Rapid City - Denver
The day begins with a drive through the Black Hills National Forest where Ponderosa pines, spruce and aspen forests harbour a variety of wildlife. Then it’s on through the National Grassland prairies of South Dakota and Wyoming en route to Colorado’s “Mile High” capital city of Denver.
Hotel: Sheraton Denver Hotel
Day 11 - Denver - Arches National Park - Moab
Driving into the Rocky Mountains we stop at the famous resort of Vail with time for a short stroll through this quaint alpine village. Following the Colorado River, we travel through the spectacular scenery of the Rockies and arrive in Utah. Here you can explore the amazing Arches National Park with its natural stone arches and balancing rock formations. Then it’s on to Moab for an overnight stay.
Hotel: Ramada Inn
Day 12 - Moab - Mesa Verde - Kayenta
Today we visit the Mesa Verde National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and scene of some of the most significant archaeological finds that have helped us understand how the Native American tribes lived in the canyons of Mesa Verde. From here our journey continues to Kayenta on the Navajo Indian Reservation for our overnight stay.
Hotel: Holiday Inn Kayenta
Day 13 - Kayenta - Monument Valley - Grand Canyon.
We join a local guide to explore the giant monoliths of Monument Valley before continuing to the magnificent Grand Canyon for our overnight stay. There is plenty of time to explore this natural wonder. Stroll along the rim or maybe venture down the Bright Angel Trail. In the evening enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your fellow travelling companions. Later join your Tour Director for a walk along the rim at sunset.
Hotel: National Park Lodges
Day 14 - Grand Canyon - Depart Las Vegas.
This morning is entirely at your leisure. Rest, relax or take an optional “flightseeing” tour over the Grand Canyon before we drive along the famous Route 66 as we head back toward Las Vegas. On the way, we cross the Colorado River into Nevada and arrive in Las Vegas. Complimentary transfers to Las Vegas International Airport are available to those guests leaving us, while transfers to the Trafalgar hotel in Las Vegas for passengers extending their stay are also provided.
